About 63.5% students in India suffer from academic stress and thousands of students commit suicide every year.

NCRB data about student suicide in India reveals that the suicide rate is growing year by year. 13089 students committed suicide due to academic pressures in the year 2021.

According to news published in Hindustan Times, Mumbai-based doctor Aniruddha Narayan Malpani filed a public interest litigation (PIL) in Supreme Court. The court while hearing this public interest litigation, said that high expectations of parents is driving children to end their lives.

For example, if a student is not suitable for Medical career and the parents want their child to become a doctor, it will cause academic stress to the student.
